Recall
Bought our new 5th Wheel a couple weeks ago in preparation for going full time and also signed up with Good Sam Alert for any recalls. As soon as I had signed up I got a notice on a recall for my trailer awning that had been issued 2 weeks prior to taking delivery of our new trailer. This leaves me a little dismayed in that, one - the dealership didn't know anything about the recall or failed to inform us; two - the awning manufacturer and the RV manufacturer didn't inform us of the recall. Now we are sitting with a defective awning and if we need to travel we will have to go through a procedure that basically ruins the awning so that it can be secured with tie wraps preventing it from unfurling when going down the road. A week into this situation and we are still waiting on the awning manufacturer to get a mobile RV repair service to come out and fix the problem. My recommendation to everyone is to sign up for a recall alert or to check for any recalls on your RV. Although this is a real pain to take care of it beats what could have possibly happened if we were on the road and the awning unfurled.
