Both the equalizer and the r6 are local to me for installation. R6 seems newer. Any info on it or thoughts between the two?
I have no experience with the Recurve R6 but having owned & used an Equal-i-zer myself for 6 yrs I'd suggest you read through this recent discussion (a.k.a. argument) :S which will remind you that Progress Mfg requires the use of an appropriately sized torque wrench to properly torque not just the hitch ball but also the head shank bolts. The hitch ball usually only needs to be done once but if you find the original setup isn't as good as it should be you'd have to pull the head apart once again in order to change the number of head washers that set the head angle. That means loosening / removing those shank bolts, which in turn means having the right torque wrench on hand in order to re-torque those bolts properly. In my case I did this more than 1/2 dozen times so access to an appropriate torque wrench was critical, despite what some pundits may claim and is contrary to what Progress Mfg requires in it's Equal-i-zer Installation Instructions.
