Recurve R6

Anyone with the Eaz-Lift Recurve R6?

I have a family member about to pull the trigger on this hitch and we haven't really heard much about them. Any real time experience here?
  • I have no experience with the Recurve hitch, but did use an Eaz-Lift round bar hitch for 10 years. It was completely trouble free and worked extremely well.

I like the idea of the Recurve from a ground clearance perspective. A lot of WD bars tend to hang very low, so it's nice to see how clean this system looks.

  • Interesting design, like an upside down Equal-i-zer.

Looking at the installation guide, I see that the hook up brackets are fixed, so the only way to fine tune the bar tension is to change the angle of the hitch head. This requires loosening the head bolts, adjusting a large thumbscrew, then re-torquing the bolts to 260 ft lb. It also has the ability to turn off sway control with a hex key wrench.

Talk about needing a cheater bar...oof!
  • I’d be inclined to just use a regular Ez-lift hitch and a few sway bars
  • If his trailer doesn’t have good ground clearance it looks like it would help a lot. I haven’t used this model but have worn out three of their regular hitches. They performed well. I usually had two sway bars due to the size of the coach.
