There a few posts in this thread from people crying about the taxes not being paid. To me there is no difference between this and the ones using a Montana LLC to avoid paying taxes. I see a lot of Montana plates on Motorhomes and nobody is busting their chops. I don't run red fuel or have Montana plates, but cheating is cheating or am I missing something?
Those MT Motor Homes aren't all tax cheats or "scofflaws"
You're making the assumption the Motor Homes you see with Montana plates are not genuine Montana residents (no LLC needed)..:S
Not difficult to become a Montana Resident without paying a law firm for an LLC - even if you don't reside in MT "full-time"..;)

However, If a CA Chippy has the opportunity to check your DL......and it's a CA DL - but your vehicle has MT plates, you can count on having your "chops busted"!..:S
Another chop buster is requiring the LLC to register in the state where the owner (the LLC) resides.
And another....Define LLC.
Whether you prefer Limited Liability Company -or- Corporation, they are interpreted as being Commercial.
Your vehicle is now subject to all appropriate commercial regs.
Disagree - go to court and prove it.
Your state's AG office has way way deeper pockets than you do, LOL!
(And of course, the MT law firm will only represent you in MT)
Anyway, many states are (easily) plugging the MT LLC "loophole" - often to the detriment of the MH owner's wallet!.:(
Bottom line whether it's Red Dye or an LLC........
Tax *avoidance* is legal...:C
Tax *evasion* is illegal...:(
Take your pick...:B..:B
