I live 7 doors down from the city mayor, so I use a .22 caliber air rifle. Mine is a Beeman R9. I have taken over 200 of the little buggers in the last 3 years, most recently one yesterday and one today. I tried the live trap/relocate for over a year before I gave up on it. Never got them out of the attic.
They WERE in my attic. My attic has now been vermin free for 2.5 years.
