We are heading on our first extended RV trip (have taken many one/two week trips) for approximately 8 weeks. I am thinking of purchasing a portable printer for use in keeping track of reservations, etc. as we traverse along. Have any of you taken a portable printer with you, and did you find it useful?

If you have the space, why not? We have one and use it rarely, but nice to have when we want it.

I have a potable printer that I use once in a while,maybe twice a year.For an 8 week trip? I wouldn't bother.DW makes,and keeps track of all reservations.She just marks them on the calendar.It seems to me that using a paper list,or using one of the on-line calendars would be simpler. Ed

We had one at one time. Only used it once. Got rid of it.

I agree with just writing it down in a notebook would be more practical. I have a printer, but don't even take it anymore. I can remote print to home if I really need a paper copy of something.

I have the cheapest all in one printer I could find. I buy at Walmart for around $30.00. It is not a portable printer and is stored away when not in use. Every winter I have occasion to use it to either print or scan. Once had to sign and return a document to a real estate agent and I just pulled over fired up the genny and completed my business ez peze. NO HASSLES. IN addition I used it to print out my wife's boarding pass when she returned home to her family for Christmas. I have used it for other purposes as well including Groupons and Restaurant.com certificates.

We did a 2 month this past summer and I had exactly 1 need to print something and maybe 1 or 2 other "nice to haves" for printing. For the 1 need, I just contacted a local UPS Store and took my file there. It worked out, I could get the document notarized, faxed, and re-scanned while I was there.

I half-heartedly looked at printers before we left and had I found the previously mentioned Epson XP-310, I might have bought it. But honestly, I don't see me doing it. There are enough quick service stores to take documents to print for a buck or two and a little bit of hassle.

For years I used a VERY small HP Deskjet 450. It served us well. When I got a Windows 8.1 computer, there were no drivers for it and it would not work. I replaced it with a HP Officejet 100 Mobile. It is also VERY small, wireless/bluetooth and can run on it's laptop type battery. I think it's a winner.
