First let me explain that I am a full-timer...So I expect that I will have to deal with difficult people from time to time.
When I owned a hotel in a SE Asian Beach resort I had to deal with difficult customers on a daily basis. Also difficult police, Difficult corrupt bureaucrats,Difficult owners of competing hotels and difficult employees. I sold my hotel, in part, to get away from so much difficulty. But this situation while irritating is nothing like what I have had to deal with before.
If there is any emotion that is definitely NOT CALLED for in a situation like this it is violence. It would accomplish nothing but get me in trouble also. That is not my goal. I am very good at keeping my eye on the Ball (my goal). I stay focused and behave in a way that will result in my best interest being served.
If there is any emotion that applies to these folks it should be a bit of pity salted with the assurance that you know what they are about and have taken the high road.
