X2 on not enabling a jerk.
We once had seasonal site with extremely well located boundaries. Much like a freshly surveyed residential lot, there were permanent wooden stakes driven into all four corners. The new neighbor seemed decent, and I even spent several hours tracing an electrical issue in his TT, one night, when they had no power. He pulled his rig out for a trip and decided, that when he returned, he would back his trailer about six feet over, on to my lot. When I saw what he did, I politely asked him to move back over to his lot. He politely agreed, and said he would do it the next day. This is when I discovered what a true piece of trash he and his wife were. They hightailed it to the office, and reported that I had harassed and intimidated them. I was stunned. The owner came out to look at the situation, and started to side with these scumbags. I then quietly and politely asked the owner if the stake he placed represented the border of the property I was leasing? He confirmed that to be the case. I then told him that there was nothing to discuss, I had nicely asked the neighbor to put his RV back on THEIR lot, since that's where it belongs, and they agreed, so there was no issue other than the fact that they chose not to do the right thing. He directed them to move their unit.
After the fact, I realized that I got played by these scumbags, and they nearly won. They decided that they were entitled to more that their own lot, which was quite a bit smaller than mine, and they would just take whatever they felt they deserved. If I didn't complain, they win. If I even mentioned it to them, they hoped to win by falsely accusing me of intimidation and harassment. The right way to handle it was to go straight to the owner, and tell him that I expected to have full use of the property I leased, and I was not OK with another RV parked on my lot. It's still hard to wrap my head around a couple who would deliberately scheme something like that.
