    WORKCAMPER RESUME
    JAXFL & WIFE
MAILING ADDRESS: 130 Anystreet Dr, Orange Park, FL 32673
    CELL PHONE: (904) 887-3897

    About Us
We are a fun, outgoing couple. We are very familiar with camping, campgrounds and RV Parks and the generally accepted rules and operation of each. We have both held private and government employment that has given us significant experience. I am a retired US Army veteran. With our experience and abilities, we would be a welcome addition to your workcamping staff. We do not smoke, we don't use foul language, we keep our area neat and clean, and our only pet is a small, quiet and very friendly Chihuahua, named Sparky.
We are the type of folks that will pick up trash and take it to the trash can even in parks we aren't working at, and when we are assigned a job to do, we do it right the first time. We also honor our commitments. If you browse around this site and the other one linked above, that will give you much more detailed information and a greater overall picture of us. You are also welcome to contact us with any questions.

Our Goal: A part-time position in which we can assist the management and guests so that everyone has an enjoyable and memorable time, including us! We are looking for a position in Southwest Arizona, or in Florida. We can do most tasks with the exception of heavy lifting. We would be open to any of the following positions:

    • Office Staff
    • Camp Store Staff
    • Camp Host
    • Housekeeping
    • Security
    • Light Grounds keeping

    Availability:
Our next long term available dates are from ____________ to _______________. However the dates are flexible.

    Preferred Conditions:
We prefer to work the same shift if both of us are needed and we like to be able to attend local Sunday morning worship services. At a minimum, we require a full hook up site (W/E/S or nearby dump station) and Wi-Fi is nice to have if available. We prefer areas where summer temperatures do not generally exceed 90 degrees and winter temperatures do not dip below freezing.

    Skills:
We have experience being business owners, extensive experience with computers, miscellaneous software packages, office duties, guest relations, public speaking, light housekeeping, clerical duties, retail sales, restaurant management, household management, etc. Linda can even conduct cooking or gardening classes for the ladies.

    Recent Work Experience: JAXFL’s

    Recent Work Experience: WIFE’s
Apr 1990 – Present: Business owner for residential cleaning company. Serviced 56 clients and obtained all of them from word of mouth referrals from other customers.
    Jul 1986 – Apr 1990: Waitress.
Feb 1980 – Jul 1986: Restaurant owner. Sold the business due to husbands’ transfer.
    Jul 1978 – Feb 1980: Waitress.

    Our Rig:
Our camper is a 2008 Sunseeker 3100 32’ Class C motorhome with 1 slide. We tow a 2008 Chevy Colorado 4x4 behind us. The total length of our motorhome and the Jeep when connected is 47 feet

    Final Words:
We are open to doing a variety of duties and tasks. Don't be afraid to ask! We love learning new things and are adventurous. We are fast learners and enjoy working with people. If you are looking for honest, reliable and punctual workcampers... well, you found us!
  • "it is no were like a regular one" Amen. IMHO too much information is deadly. They are interested in what you have done in their field or that might relate to the assignment. Don't overload them with BS. I have 35 years as a Computer Analyst at NASA but barely mention it but we have 4 plus years as camp host in 4 different states now that interest them. Short and to the point you don't want to lose the reader in the middle of the resume.
  • Here is ours:

    Resume for [COLOR=]Our Names
    Our Address
    Phone XXXXXXXXX(Sheila’s cell) XXXXXXXXXX(Ted’s cell)
    Work experience:
Sheila:(DOB-XXXXXXX) Sheila worked as an Information Technology Assistant at a local university most recently. Her position dealt directly with others in the university community and students at the university. She is very proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 and for several years authored and published the university health newsletter on a quarterly basis. This was a volunteer position for which she received no additional remuneration. Before this she worked in the health care field in various positions. Sheila grew up in upstate New York.
Ted:(DOB-XXXXXXXX) Ted has worked for many years as a paramedic with commercial and volunteer ambulance services. He also worked as a Security/EMS Manager at a local Casino and Racetrack. He performed all management activities in the department and interacted with the public on a daily basis. He worked in retail sales while attending college and work in the Aerospace field for many years as an electrical technician after graduation. Ted also grew up in the same community as Sheila. They were high school sweethearts and have been married for 40 years.

    Volunteer service:
Sheila: As stated earlier, Sheila volunteered to author and publish the quarterly health newsletter at the university where she worked. She volunteered on the Ladies Auxiliary in the fire department that Ted volunteered at.
Ted: Ted has been a volunteer in the local volunteer fire department for over 23 years and spent over 15 years as an assistant chief of the department. Ted also worked on several volunteer ambulances before starting his career as a pre-hospital care provider. While on the fire department, Ted served as an assistant Boy Scout Master with the Boy Scout troop the fire department sponsored..
As a Couple: Ted and Sheila hand built their own 2 story colonial house in their home town. The whole build took approximately 18 months. At least 95% of the build was done by Ted and Sheila themselves.

Out-door experience: Ted and Sheila have always enjoyed gardening together. Over the last 10 years they have been avid bicyclists

Current Home: Currently Ted and Sheila do still live in New York, but are in the process of selling their home and retiring to their motor home full time. Their domicile will change shortly thereafter, although the exact location is unknown at this time.

Health Limitations: Ted has some minor issues with arthritis in his lower back. Both are in good health with minor medical conditions controlled by medication.

Hobbies: Avid bicyclists and home gardeners.

    Pets: None at this time.

Work-camper experience: None at this time.

  • Those are two good examples. If it is a resume being sent in response to a specific ad, be sure to include experiences and skills that apply to that position. If it is a carpet bombing approach, be sure to have some specifics about the particular park and area you are applying to. A resume that could have been sent to anyone will likely be sent to the circular file.
Unless you are interested in not being considered, keep what you are unwilling to do to the bare minimum and having no disqualifiers is much better. Also, never, ever put anything in your resume that may offend or disuade a potential employer. "We want a non-smoking, Christian environment" will get you on the "Don't Hire" list very quickly at many places. Not because the employer is opposed, but because they will not want to take the chance that they are hiring a preacher or a crusader as well as an office worker.
PET PEEVE ALERT!!!!! Have someone proof your resume and any other correspondence for grammar and spelling errors. That is paramount to me, even if it has nothing to do with your abilities.
  • Oh my - it's time to get stronger cheaters...I thought that up there said "Avoid bicyclists and home gardeners" ???? Well I was only confused for a second....
  • Eye wood bee happe two help u with proofreding that resamay. (Sorry, couldn't resist!!)
  • JAXFL and Medico, thank you both for sharing. Nicely done and give me great ideas for building ours. Enjoy!
  • I have an old version of our resume posted on my profile. I do customize our resume when I reply direct to employer. I have a generic version posted on workamper.com.
