Retire Military Tricare

I'm looking for advice from some retired military folks. I'm retired from the AF and I'm looking at full-timing in three years. How do you get your medications from Tricare when you're on the road? Do you have to go back to your Primary Care Manager every three months?
  • Express Scripts is the way to go!
Have a good one, and thanks for serving :),
    Bob
  • I have my prescriptions filled at Darnell and refills at the refill Pharmacy, My daughter pick them up and mails to me where ever I am at... (90 Days prescriptions)

We use Express Scripts and get 90 days supply when we order through them. We also have alternate addresses listed if we start to run out on the road. I can get my meds as easily in Arizona or Alaska as I can get them at home, and just about as fast. We DO NOT let them auto-fill as we're never sure when they will fill it and where it will go. A couple of minutes on line and my pills are on the way.

+1 on express scripts the will take up o a 6 month prescription from an MD

  • As already stated, you can have the prescriptions mailed to you.

    X2

I explained to DOC about FTng.
He wrote 90 day Rx with 3 refills.
Using 'myhealthevet' I order refills on-line and then they were mailed out to mail service and then on to me when/where I requested.
  • We have an annual. Our primary care physician OKs prescriptions for a year.
We get our prescriptions through Walmart both at home and through stores on the road. Our Quack authorizes 90 day supply with one vacation fill. We order through Walmart on line for next refill a few days in advance to the location we are headed. We have had no problems.
