Just an FYI, I have never been in a place that was "complete darkness" and I've spent hundreds of nights boat and land camping. Even during a new moon, it is amazing how much starlight reaches the ground. There are very few places in this country anymore that are considered black sky areas and in those areas, the stars and moon are more than enough to see the terrain. If it is cloudy, terrestrial light bounces off the clouds (that's what gives the night sky its red color). One of the most beautiful things in life is watching the universe slide across the sky. Turn off your lights for a while and go outside. There is an entire world out there.
