We have rope lights under the awning roller too. I think lights around a camper adds ones own flavor, we use them because they put off a more ambient light, not piercing like a porch light..I want to add some underneath to illuminate the steps too.
I also think its cool to add a fuse to the pigtail and run the marker lights(but turn them off before it gets late).:)
