rope lights

what is the deal with campers outlining their camper with rope lights. Some of them look like a landing strip for airplanes. We had somebody beside us last year and you would have thought thet were scarwed of the dark. We come to enjoy the outdoors just seems odd.
  • Albeit I don't do either.

Rope lights and who can come up with the best tacky lights is fun for many and interesting to look at for other campers.
    AND...
Actually having the rope lights on the ground gives the camper a lit area at night to sit outside with friends and family without blaring a scare light. So many times it's done as a courtesy to other campers.:W

How'd you like to walk out your MH late at night and see this light off to the side behind your MH?! :E

I thought the aliens had landed in the CG!
  • I use the white ones when we snowbird. When coming home at night it is helpful finding your way and I find it less annoying than leaving the porch light on. JMO

I am truly sorry if using them offends anyone, but hey you will get over it.:B
  • I installed an LED lighting strip on my TT right under the awning which works really, really well. I've also been known to show a NASCAR race or similar even on the side of my camper at night.

I'm a lighting offender, I admit it. With that said, I hate the look of rope lights. It usually looks very tacky to me. The only way they might look OK in my eyes is if they were mounted to the bottom curb side of the camper so that you couldn't actually see the rope lights, but you could see the effect of the rope lights.+

    JMHO.
