Rubber roof care

Trying to get some input on rubber roof care. My roof has black spots all over it, would like to clean but don't want to be too aggressive. Have tried one cleaner made for cleaning rubber roofs, but it was worthless. Thanks for your help, Dave

  • What ever you do, do not!! use any petroleum based products!!!!
  • I have used spic & span and it helps a lot, but does not look like new.

  • I asked Thor what they recommend for rubber roofs and their answer was to simply use spic and span with a SOFT brush once a year. You don't want to scrub the roof as you can damage it.
  • I just don't understand the obsession with cleaning RV's roofs. Rubber roofs were first used in commercial construction, and those roofs never get cleaned. Cleaning a rubber roof actually hastens its demise.

Save your $$$$% and time and leave it alone. Do you think businesses clean their rubber roofs and that's where most rubber roof material is used.
