Running Light Problem

I will try the jumper cable, but when I connect my test light to the ground pin on the truck and the hot pin I get the light. at this point I would try anything

I second the jumper cable from the trailer frame to the truck frame. it sounds like your 7 pin does not have a ground on either the truck of the trailer side.

I will try that, but I was able to use the power from the bumper plug to run the jacks after pulling out from under the 5th wheel, but that would help to see if it is a ground issue

"tdelong83".....Are you trying this with the trailer disconnected from the truck hitch. If so, you may be losing the ground you get when the truck is connected to the trailer.

Take a pair of jumper cables and connect one end to the truck frame and one end to the trailer frame to see if your ground is good.

I do have lights powering each pin in the pigtail

You have a bad ground in the light circuit. The ground must be continuous to the vehicle.

You can illustrate this for yourself--without the trailer connected to shore power, power the individual light circuits with a good battery. The batteries (-) terminal is connected to your trailer frame and the battery's (+) terminal is connected to either the trailer's umbilical contacts or the individual lights. You should have lights.

No I bought it new has had no modifacations. Also I could use my landing jacks without a battery just by being pluged into the truck. This pin is hot from the truck but is not gitting to thr jack motor

Just asking here, but is it possible a previous owner had the lights set up like some I have seen with all the clearance lights working when parked at a CG? I have no idea why anyone would want to do this, or why they feel the need to light up their site(s) with clearance and tail lights but it happens.
