- camperforlifeExplorerI know someone who has it on 3 properties and speaks very highly of it, the oldest has been on for 2 years. He did say not to get the grey or light colors because it will look dirty most of the time. He used grey on one and ended up re-coating it with a darker color. He did say that a gallon will not go as far as what they state on the can. He also said to buy the roller they sell for the stuff. He tried to get by with a cheaper one & it just did't cut it. He speaks highly enough you would think he owned the company. I plan on using it on a rental this summer.
- Homer1ExplorerPenatrol by Flood Co. will fix your problem. Can get in almost any paint store of at Lowes.
- Elizabeth24ExplorerWe have used this on our deck in Calgary last year and so far it has held up very well. The color has held up but have a few comments, first this stuff is expensive and we did not get the coverage that they stated, we kept having to go back for more to complete the job and the other thing is that it is rough on bare feet and when we had our dog, she did not particularly like walking on it, she was however 16 years old and perhaps her pads were tender.
One other thing is that it is hard to clean as the dust etc. sticks to the surface and you will need to hose or powerwash.
Would I use it again, probably not. - 3_dog_nightsExplorerOK this product is not a paint or stain, it's a coating. 1 gal covers 25 sqft, if that gives you an idea how thick it is. It appears to coat not cover the wood. video
- BuckBarkerExplorerAbsolutely use a solid body stain for lasting results. I had a balcony in AZ in which the paint fell off after one year. My local paint expert recommended a solid body stain which held up perfectly for many years. If I can recall the brand name I will post back.
The brand name is Flood and it contains Emulsabond which will help it adhere and actually penetrate if there is paint that is stuck tight to wood. - Dave_H_MExplorer IIIf it is treated lumber, I have not found any "paint" that would adhere to suit my druthers.
look at solid body stain and pressure wash good before application.
