Rust-Oleum NeverWet - new product

Ok RV'ers...what applications on your RV might this be good for? Lets hear what great ideas may come from this group.

  • I got some. even though it says not to use on fabric I'm going to try it on one pair of tennis shoes, and one of the folding chair canvas and see how it works.
  • We sprayed one of our folding camp chairs with it. Now it can sit out in the rain and with a quick tip, it's dry as a bone. And it worked well. One can did one chair. Wasn't terribly expensive through Home Depot.
  • Ha. . .this one guy on YouTube does a review. . .

He shakes the can up real good (instructions say don't shake) and then he sprays the first coat on and lets it dry overnight. (dry time is 30 minutes)

And he's talking while spraying the aerosol. . .meaning that he isn't wearing a respirator.

    Interesting. . .
. . .wonder how that stuff affects the lungs?
  • Read the reviews. I think it leaves a lot to be desired.

I think you should coat your entire RV with it. Let us know how it works out.

The reviews said it left a gritty white/silver/gray film, so I wouldn't use it on my MH. My in initial thought was on awnings, but a lot of the reviews said don't use on fabric. We have pavers at our place in Florida. Might be a good sealer for that. But they said it was $20 for 10=15 square feet, so that's too expensive. There's also a question of how long it lasts. I have an open utility trailer that sits outside. I may try it on that.
  • I immediately thought of my Satellite dome on top of our camper. HOWEVER, there are some bad/less than exciting experiences with this product as described elsewhere on the internet. Among them the product is expensive, takes several steps to apply, and doesn't last long.
Maybe I'll just stick to Rain-X on the dome.
