As a 20 year satellite TV user both at home and on the road, I doubt the never wet on the dome would hurt or help. The rain fade (or here in MN snow fade) is usually caused by an intense storm a short distance away or directly over you, not a wet dish. I don't think it will hurt and am considering it for our home dish to maybe help with snow accumulation on it.
