RV Covers

I am thinking about buying a cover for my 5th wheel to save money on storage rental. Looking for opinions on these covers from people that use them. Thanks
  • I only cover it for it's Winter storage. So, I'll cover around Oct and it stays on until May. In between time, I don't cover.

The cover in my pic on the previous page, at that time, was around 10 years old. I retired it this year (2 years later) and have a brand new ADCO AquaShed Designer Series cover waiting to go on come Oct.. Cost me $175 for the 20' size.. I don't have that big of a trailer.. :)

If it was physically possible to have a covered car port for mine, I'd have it.. But, the logistics of how I have to park it won't work, so this is my best solution.

    Good luck!

  • Living in the desert, we keep our 5th wheel Covered. We usually go for 2 or 3 weeks than home for a month then gone again. If the cover is folded correctly it is easy to put on. When folded, it fits in the original box.
  • I keep ours covered during the off season, July-September and again December-March. More to try to be compliant with the HOA than rv protection. The rv does seam to stay cleaner when stored with cover on. We went through 2 covers on old camper in 10 years, the Addco Designer with tyvek lasted longer than the Aqua Shield.

Our old camper wasnt to bad to put on or take off the cover. Wife on one side with an 8 foot ladder and I on the other side with 6 footer. Roll it out or roll it up, wasnt too bad. Our new camper is taller and sharp edges on roof are harder to get to. Its not to hard if I get up on the roof, which I try not to do. So once camping season begins, it stays uncovered.

Edit to add: make sure the cover doesnt bellow. The membrane on the old camper rolled over the back wall, the cover sliding around on the edge wore through the roof membrane.
  • I wouldn't cover mine if I was going to use it again in 2 or 3 weeks, a month or more I cover. Mine's fairly easy as it's pretty small. Probably couldn't carry the one DutchmanSport would need.
