CEO's of major 3 oil distributors had a hearing with U.S. Senate at the request of some senator. It was noted during that session that all 3 CEO's sat in their chairs, looked at the Senator and Reps with laughing eyes and smiles and answered all the questions laughingly. Just to please the Senators, then went back to their offices in their corporate jets and continued to raise prices . That was a few years back now. Any changes, are price related only. Speculators feasted well too.
Were that it were so. As one whose job entailed working at hundreds of US House and Senate committee hearings over three decades, I can promise you that, BS-loaded as they usually are, no one responds with laughing eyes and and answers. You don't make light of those who can give you things you are looking for, take stuff away, or just generally make your life miserable.
The chairmen usually invite either witnesses who hold their views, or ones that they can beat up. It's a useless, expensive process 99% of the time. - LindsayRichardsExplorerGreydog1 are you off topic again?

Will people ever get PO'd and get nasty with their elected representatives to find out what's happening with prices/supply/demand?
That is pretty obvious I believe.
Why get mad at the reps for there addiction to oil? We've known of this problem for years and years and now you want to get mad? It is time for tough love!
Go green when you can. Buy cars that are energy thrifty. Don't be fooled into thinking anything BP and the boys are doing is for you, from drilling to the XL pipeline. These are for profit and sale elsewhere.
These ideas will also make oil products more available for our use and the lack of demand will make the product stabilize in price.

That is pretty obvious I believe. - SRTExplorerWell, gasoline prices have continued their increase to $3.79 a gallon. This is back to what it was a week or so ago. This has been a 10-15 cent increase in prices. Diesel is hovering around $4.00 a gallon. Boy, getting jerked around on gasoline prices is really getting old. Plus the oil price this morning is $92.36. Glad we don't have to buy gasoline every few days like the working "stiffs." - Gale_HawkinsExplorerJust filled up with Shell 87 in Newark DE @ $3.48 which was cheaper than in Murray on Monday. Diesel was $3.99

I have bought over 20 gallons without a hitch but if your coupon limits the gallons you may want to ask first. The corporate stores do the anyone coupon deal but there are some franchises that do not.
that's really great. I would also suggest that ANY price you get from Wall mart you can have Sears match it as they will guarantee to mach the lowest price! - deadticket8ExplorerI 94 Monticello MN Just off the exit next to McDonalds is a SUPER AMERICA.They take ANYONES coupons not just theirs.
