- SRTExplorerGeeze, prices at a few stations have dropped another 3¢ a gallon for regular to $3.35. Seems every few days prices drop a few more pennies. Oil prices this morning are $102.XX a barrel. Gee, who wodda thunk..:h
- tomman58ExplorerAfter talking to my nephew last night he said almost all engines will have electric assist to improve mileage in the next year and a half. Even the diesels will have improved mileage. ................ interesting. He said I should wait to buy the new truck but I tole him I was still buying green bananas but wasn't caring to much about the 30 year warranty for my roof, LOL.
- Gale_HawkinsExplorer$3.10 locally at Krogers, Shell, BP at noon
- LindsayRichardsExplorerI saw two stations at $3.19 yesterday.
- SRTExplorerGasoline prices continue the downward trend. Gas Buddy has our local prices at $3.38 to $3.46 for regular. Diesel prices are $3.81 to $3.99.
- tomman58ExplorerBIL brought over his new GMC 1500 crewcab truck and I took it for a drive. This was a loaded one just below the Denali. I really liked the dash, the seats were excellent and the doors. The doors??? yep they are triple sealed and there is no need to slam them they gently shut. The trucks back doors are really neat as they allow a wider entry and more room in the backseat. The sensors are better and the 6 speed trans is great.
I finally was able to go to the Chevy site and see the 2500 HD that come out in the Spring really nice stuff there too. I am eager but not eager to see a 64 or 65,000 sticker, LOL - tomman58ExplorerUnderstand the new GM 6.6 Diesels are being put in the old body style 2014 2500's.
Wonder if anyone has got one and the mileage of these new engines.
stopped at a gas station today bought 4.2 gallons @ 3.94 - 20 cents a gallon at the Kroger station. Still an unpleasant experience. - cekkkExplorerCan't argue with your decision. But don't today's computer driven engines detect the low octane and adjust timing? When I heard of that many years ago I wondered if that wouldn't be a bad thing. I might keep on driving bad gas and hurt the engine over time because I didn't hear the pinging.
I notice much better performance in my DW's new 5.4 over her previous 3. Probably due to an increase in horsepower that makes up for a good portion of the nearly 30% loss of power at 9000'. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIII'll stick with 87 octane as per the owners manual. On a previous trip my 5.4 did ping alittle on 85. Given how prices vary so much and the fact that I am getting sn additional 5% off thru my Chase Visa it isn't all that much more. Both the 5.4 and the V-10 have run strong especially at altitude(7,000+'), where we spend most
of our time. - gwalterExplorer IIIGas was 3.33 today and diesel 3.67 in CO Springs.
