- LindsayRichardsExplorerLeaving the bankrupt, rat infested, crime ridden, vibrant city of Detroit for Florida where the residents are laughing at you behind your back. It is a favorite pastime of those waitresses you call toothless to spit in the food of the complainers. Probably already happened to you a hundred times. At least by staying together you cut down the nuisance factor for regular people. Hopefully not all of the 80 are the complainer. Odd are it is just you and a few others. You enjoy your meal, you hear.

It would seem prudent then to get as much North American oil as possible. We have massive amounts under our feet, but are stopped by the environmentalist and their wet dreams of wind and solar at a whopping 3 1/2% of our electrical generation at a massive costs. We continue to have fossil fuels generation plants shut down.
what would things be like today if that enormous waste of funds misspent for "green" energy had been used to clean up the use of coal?
just curious

No it wouldn't, why because it would just go elsewhere, go fish.
Michigan is the 5th donor by the way and when the chickens come to roost more money will stay here.
I have nothing wrong about FL in the winter as it is warm. But nothing changes the poor, red neck, voter suppressed state that has little else to offer. So when 80 of my fellow Michiganders go to a Fl to stay warm we go with them. Think of it as a little Michigan for a few months then back to our rich land of trees and fresh water. You see most CGs in Fl have nothing to do with the state but everything to do with friends and commadery from ones own state. - LindsayRichardsExplorerIt would seem prudent then to get as much North American oil as possible. - SRTExplorerOh, BTW, the lower priced stations are raising their prices gently. Instead of those mind blowing increases (:B), they are "only" increasing their prices by a few pennies. Prices now vary from $3.54 to $3.59. That may change if our gov't decides to send in Tomahawk cruise missiles to Syria.

Before the Syrian war affecting America, let's say five tankers go thru the canal per day
During an American attack on Syria, five tankers go thru the canal. After the attack is over 5 tankers go thru the canal. Where is the disruption in our oil supply?
They are planning on a disruption of the flow of oil which would drive up the price. If there isn't a disruption it is a real handy excuse to skim off additional profits from the users. And we are the users...:R - BumpyroadExplorer

BTW California is the largest tax donor state. This means CA has the largest deficit for paying Federal taxes vs receiving Federal benefits. NOBODY is subsidizing CA as we net contribute more than ANY OTHER STATE. FL is also a doner but ranked #17

well we have to hurry and get it back before CA slides off into the Pacific during the next "big one" and there is ocean front property in Nevada.

BTW my 3kW solar install is up and running nicely. And yes, you get to help pay for it. And I will continue to help pay your mortgage for 30 years assuming you have one.
No debt here, but I don't think others would be paying for it if I did. Certainly don't think anybody did during those years we had mortgages. Jimmy Carter days they were at over 14%. I do know I am paying for wind and solar though both as a taxpayer and ratepayer. Fortunately, most of the solar projects went bankrupt before wasting too much money.
If you itemized your interest as a deduction you avoided paying some taxes. So your home loan was subsidized by the rest of the taxpayers just the same as you feel you are paying for these EVs, solar & wind projects. Nothing wrong with taking deductions but not everyone gets the same.

I get it. In case you haven't noticed, CA is quickly going bankrupt (like your vibrant Detroit has already done.). If you dislike Florida as much as you say, you would not spend your winters here complaining about everything.
- tomman58ExplorerSmkettner, talking to LR is like relating to the dinosaur. Hardly worth the effort.
Yes, there are those who
walk the walk and take the first step on the moon then there are .............. others.
California has always led the way Florida not so much.
With the way the US works lately all one has to do is mention oil wars and the price of that dinosaur commodity goes thru the roof opening the door to electric and others like never before.
I do have a problem with comment by some that will never ever enter the new world of tech and don't believe that the greased wheel runs smoother.
