I didn't get ANYTHING from your income tax. There are no tax incentives on the standard Prius Hybrid. AND even if there was, it would be a tax deduction I could use when I filed, just like any other deduction you would claim on your taxes that you qualified for.
The Plug-in Prius has a tax incentive, but the vehicle is over $10K more than the regular Prius, so not really worth it.
so then it would end up being what $3,000 more? I think it would be worth it to me.

So for the same money you could by our electric car!
My sister has a Prius and me at 6' 4" and 260 can only get in and out with unnatural contortions LOL not so with the Volt. - BumpyroadExplorer

bumpy - cekkkExplorerJust returned from a short 220 mile round trip and five night outing with a half a tank of leftover $3.60 diesel. The corner station went up from 3.90 to 4.16 while we were there. Approaching holiday, Isaac, fires have all combined to send the price gougers into a frenzy. Won't need the truck for a month. Maybe things will quiet down before I have to fill again.
- Dog_TrainerExplorerJust saw the news. Oil and gas prices are Up about 10 cents per gallon overnight the news says the Gulf has shut down 80 percent of it production or about 6 percent of the US usage. All due to the hurricane. We shall see where she goes from here.

- LonmanproExplorerGas prices in our (Tacoma, WA) area is around $4.10 a gallon for reg unlead. Arco still has $3.89-3.99 prices, but I never liked Arco.

You may not like the cars, but I fail to see why you put out so much effort in bashing those who buy them. Heck, it's not you're money....move on :h
well in fact it is my money, about $7,000 for every one sold?

Not for my Prius it isn't. You gonna tell me you know where every tax dollar you pay goes? - BumpyroadExplorer

bumpy - LindsayRichardsExplorerSetting the standard does not mean it can be done. Lisa Jackson will be gone soon anyway. As average mpg goes up, weight and safety goes down. How many cars actually meet this standard? Almost none. What will happen is when you buy a real car, you will have to buy a little puddle jumper as a spare to keep the average mpg up. Americans should be free to buy whatever car they wish. This is still America. If people want a Hybrid, that is great. I have no problem with that. I wish them well. I just don't think they have the right to tell others they must buy.
The USA only uses about 20% of the global supply so most of the cost will fall on big buyers like China and India.
We use more than both of them and we get a lot of the refined product from that plant.
