- cekkkExplorerA few days ago former Shell CEO John Hofmeister was beginning to explain why we should have $2 gasoline in the future when we lost the television signal. Did anyone hear his reasoning? And please, no flaming of him or his opinions. After all, he's not under investigation for repeatedly lying to congress. And believe me, the House and, to a lesser extent the Senate, have many green sharks who would love to pursue charges against him, as he has testified numerous times before them.

- tomman58Explorernotice the Mod and BIL or LR has stopped my posts that were true and contrary to LR's rants.
- DelCamperExplorer"No cheap energy goes unused". One way or another that oil and gas will be recovered.
- LindsayRichardsExplorerEnvironmentalist hate fracking and this is well known. They hate it because it reduces the price of fossil fuels (NG is now selling at 1/3 of it's previous cost) and makes the spread between fossil fuels and alternatives even wider. They want fossil fuels to be very expensive. This is well known. If you think environmentalist are going to be embracing GE for their entry into the fracking picture, then you are sadly mistaken and anybody understanding the subject knows this also.
- LindsayRichardsExplorerThey are building a new fracking research lab in OK and are investing $15 BILLION in the technology. Many other companies have done similar things for years. GE got on teh bandwagon a few years. Enviromentalist hate fracking and will be trashing GE for this. This technology has been common since 1949 and the ground water, flaming water, and earthquakes are all smokescreens by teh enviromentalist. This isn't the place for the discussion. I thought the group would like to see the article, but was afraid you would try to slam it and me. You did. Give it a break.
PITTSBURGH —
One of America's corporate giants is investing billions of dollars in the new boom of oil and gas drilling, or fracking. General Electric Co. is opening a new laboratory in Oklahoma, buying up related companies, and placing a big bet that cutting-edge science will improve profits for clients and reduce the environmental and health effects of the boom.
"We like the oil and gas base because we see the need for resources for a long time to come," said Mark Little, a senior vice president. He said GE did "almost nothing" in oil and gas just over a decade ago but has invested more than $15 billion in the past few years. - LindsayRichardsExplorerIt is all over the news today, but I will link to it so you don't have to waste the 30 seconds yourself. It is a hot link of course. You can find similar stories all over and even in the Huffington Post.
