I just finished my "dream garage" this past spring. Being in Oregon your garage will require regional required insulation, the proper pitch roof to keep snow accumulation at a minimum and ac/heat. I built mine wooden framed (24" centers) with vinyl trim; 45' long by 30' wide by 14' high. 30 yr warranty roof shingles, and installed sheet metal ceiling with spray insulation on the walls and blown insulation on the ceiling. Installed small door in ceiling for access to wiring. Electric outlet every 8' across the rear wall where I built a work bench. Six huge light banks holding 6 fluorescent lamps each. Drive in door is wall high (2' taller than my MH), 12' wide and insulated with electric opener/keyboard. One regular size walk-in door but no windows simply for security. Installed burglar alarm system. Poured concrete floor which in my case had to be thicker than average due to lay of the land. Did some minor grading to prep for floor which added to the cost. Big enough to park 30' Class C with both slideouts deployed, and two full size cars and my golf kart. In the middle of the floor I built a 16' long train table layout for my grandson. The workbench and shelf holds all tools and stuff I've collected in 40 yrs plus room down each side to store things like floor jacks, jacks stands, ladders and such. I also have a full size refrigerator and a microwave. I hired 3 experienced guys to help me in construction and it took better part of 2+ weeks to build working 8+ hrs a day. Final cost $41K. A final word; don't skimp on size. Build as big a garage as your wallet will tolerate. Good luck and I hope this info. helps.
