RV Jack Supports?

I have a couple of RV bottle jacks to level my old RV.
I measured the height to the frame and the height of the jack retracted and extended and it would be nice to have a support block to set the jack on top of.
I would like it to be light if possible, should support some 8000# I would suppose and have a measurement of some 5"x8" for the base and I need one with a total of 6' of lift and one that goes 10" high.
Not sure what they would call them in a search or where to find them.

  • Yes after looking around locally I decided to just make my own out of wood. Cheap anyway.
  • If you do any wood working you probably have a circular/table saw and a drill. Get yourself a pocket hole jig, screws and construction adhesive.

Get some PT 2x6s. Cut one edge so that it is square to the face. Cut the 2x6 into about 10-12" pieces. Edge glue and pocket hole screw these into flat "plates". Now you have light weight spacers that you can stack. If you are concerned about them shifting, stack up 3 or 4 together and drill through them. Place a loose fitting wood dowel through them.

If you want a wider base, put 3 together.
  • I carry a couple of 12" long 4 x 6 oak timbers. Not too heavy, easy to pickup with one hand.
