RV.net has a new sister site

There are several ways to get to this forum,, RV.NET is the one I use, Good Sams, Woodalls, and at least one other all come here.

It may be a different page, or it may be "just another door" Only time will tell,, Right now it's a page with the original post in this thread upon it. (Not the post, the post was copied from it though) and some additional info I think

It's a domain name. It doesn't come with black helicopters and secret handshakes. It's no different than any of the other Billion or so domain names you can purchase for around $10.00. .Com is considered to be the best commericial address and the one people most often type if they are unsure of the entire address. That makes RV.com potentially valuable if anyone is surfing for RV related products or content. I am reasonably sure it will eventually point to either a Camping World (most likely since they sell RVs and RV supplies) or a Good Sam website. You can leave your doomsday bunkers and put away your tinfoil hats, there is no mind control component to this transaction.

.net and .com end up at the same place on the internet!

Usually what happens is that you want a certain domain_name.com and upon finding out that someone else already has it, you get domain_name.net instead. Mots people - myself included will purchase different versions (.net, .com, .org) of their domain names to prevent this. But one domain name can be redirected to another - so people going to rv.net can be taken to rv.com instead.

Maybe their will be a classified section like all the other forums out there.

Well, I closed my facebook account several weeks ago because of aggravation from others. I hope it doesn't happen again.

It is not unusual for an Internet presence to buy a competitor's domain name. What might be done with it, just wait and see. There are already several domain names pointing to this site, in the .net and .com domains.

Yes, they are two distinct domains. Both of them now owned by Good Sam Enterprises, thus my reference to them as "sister" sites. Just how GSE intends to use the new addition remains to be seen. My non-crystal ball enhanced guess would be that RV.net will remain as is, at least for the near future, with perhaps a link to it from the new .com site.

That would make sense but hopefully they will keep the forum look and feel when the transition takes place. We could definitely use an upgrade to the forum itself as has been discussed in great detail before.
