I am not sure of your logic. Everyone is free to choose the campground that has a fee structure that they approve of.

Now if you go to a campground that is cheaper than another family run campground but charges a fee you disagree with are you guilty of putting them out of business because you choose the cheapest option?

What a lot of people fail to understand is all these rules and regulations did not spring up out of nowhere.
Something triggered it.
Eventually the owner said 'Enough is enough'
This is hurting the bottom line and somebody has to pay.

The reason you are paying more today is because somebody abused the system yesterday.

As a business owner, I understand, that 99% of small business owners are not getting filthy stinking rich. They are trying to keep the doors open and the family fed. They are not trying to gouge the consumer for every last dollar. They want to provide a good service for a fair fee.
As a consumer. I would ask myself this, is it money well spent to be able to spend time with family and friends, at that particular park?

If the answer is yes, then I will gladly pay the fee. If not then I will make a different choice.

People sometimes, are to cheap for their own good. Get their panties in a bunch, And miss out on some really fun things, over a few bucks

As far as I am aware, and cannot find anything on the State web site, Minnesota does not charge a "day fee" for visiting in a campground, as long as you have a vehicle permit. There may be individual restrictions on extra vehicles in the campgrounds proper, but there are usually a few places to park just outside, so visitors can walk in. Visitors have to be gone by 10 pm, generally.

And, if you walk or bike into the park itself, you do not need a vehicle permit!

People want something for nothing and get pizzed when they don't get it.

Where do you stop, Campgrounds allow 4 people, couple invites 2 guests no charge. Family of 4 invites 2 guests that have 2 kids as well should all 4 guests not be charged?

I do not get why people have a problem with this.
I own a piece of property. It is mine! I chose to rent out small portions of it to people that want to rent that small portion from me.
I base my charge on one vehicle one temporary portable housing unit
and an average of 4 occupants. I set my rate at a level that I can make a profit on.
This is my property, if my paying client chooses to bring or invite more than the agreed upon complement onto my property,the he should pay the overage.
Very simple, It is my property, if you don't feel you are getting fair value for your money, move on.

When that visitor falls or trips down the steps the visitor is now the CG's problem. There is a real liability issue associated with that visitor. The CG pays real money to insurance companies for that visitor.
You claim it is your site but is it really? Do you have insurance on that site? The CG does?
Lets say a tree falls or lightning strikes. The CG is very liable for your visitor.
That assumes your visitor registered and is not a trespasser.
All my scenarios are real.
There are plenty of lawyers around to assist anyone hurt in a accident. Yes even an accident at a CG while just visiting someone.

Please tell me how a visitor that comes to my site and spends an hour or two inside my RV enjoying a drink and having a nice conversation can have a negative financial impact on RV park owners.
