I think part of the problem in this thread may stem from your initial claim of having experienced "about every type of RV Park that exists. And their owners." based on a sampling of less than 1 percent of the roughly 15,000 pubic and private RV parks in the US over a brief 2 year or so period. That alone casts some doubt on the validity of your conclusions. I think you'll find there are many of us on this forum with significantly longer and broader experience that have not reached the same conclusions you have. What does that tell you? Are we all wrong?
Well you make a good point about the percentages. But I did use the word "ABOUT" every type of... That is a definite qualifier that carries with it the implied notion that I am not talking about a majority. as for my sample size of 138 parks below is what is considered an acceptable sample size for determining such things. However I want to make clear I was in no way claiming then or now that my post was to be taken as anything like scientific...it was my informed opinion. But my sample size is supportable. (This related to sampling populations)
"The minimum sample size is 100
Most statisticians agree that the minimum sample size to get any kind of meaningful result is 100. If your population is less than 100 then you really need to survey all of them."
Of course more is better (to a point) but I think one can make some informed inferences from such a sample.
But please keep in mind that I never claimed that what I experienced was to be extrapolated across all RV Parks. that is something a few readers have inferred for themselves. Not something I wrote.
What is the difference you mention from those with "longer and broader" experience than I have is this. Were they actually paying attention to the same things I was? What is their background? Do they tend to view the same things I see? Are they Full-timers vs vacationers? (this can change the way you view a parks amenities and service) and so on. So no I don't really think it is relevant. It's Valid for sure, but it doesn't change the fact that what I wrote is what I actually experienced.
But thanks for your post it gave me a chance to think of this in a bit different way.
