"It strikes me as I have traveled around and stayed in so many that a great many RV Parks, not all mind you, are owned and operated by people who have had no real experience in business and frankly do not belong in the hospitality business at all as they clearly do not like dealing with people and do it rather badly."
IMO, you have two problems---A majority of those RV'ers that use campgrounds enjoy their stay and don't concur with your assessment of the management, and, not everybody has to agree with you. I, for one, don't find you persuasive at all.
"...that a great many RV Parks, not all mind you,"
I am just not sure how you conflate the above statement with the assertion that I was talking about the majority?
"A great many..." I chose this term with care. It denotes a bit more than many but what is "many" as opposed to all? Not a majority as I understand English.
And followed up by "...not all mind you" reinforces the point.
On the other hand you flatly state the following:
"-A majority of those RV'ers that use campgrounds enjoy their stay and don't concur with your assessment of the management,..."
I am not sure how you support such a broad and sweeping generalization. What possible data do you have to back that up with?
But it may be that what you MEAN to have said was that the majority of respondents to my post... That is a much different statement.
Part of the problem is the sloppy use of language and frankly the inability of some to read with precise comprehension what has been written.
I cannot count the hundreds of times I have been completely misquoted over this issue by those that either were not careful in their use of language in the paraphrasing or their lack of comprehension of what they originally read.
About agreement...I would not expect nor want everyone to agree with me. That would be absurd. And disagreement does not bother me. But I much prefer an enlightened and civil argument over the vitriol that has raised it's ugly head here and passes for discussion.
I am not pointing these remarks at you specifically. But your post was just too perfect an example to illustrate the problem.
