Now to more or less get back on topic, As we "older" RV'ers start going by the wayside, more and more younger ones are coming on board.
The next generation has been raised on the internet and cable.
Any park that can't provide a descent signal for either or both will not be getting much business from them if there are other parks that fully embrace the technology for their parks.
To the upcoming generation, technology is about on par with having indoor plumbing and electric.
Obtaining high speed internet access for the equivalent of, say, 50 homes all streaming video at one time in the middle of nowhere is not at all an inexpensive or simple proposition, much more difficult in most cases than supplying 50 showers and 50 sewer connections and 50 electric connections. Water and sewage disposal and even electric service can be sourced locally, but internet connectivity requires a fast connection to the rest of the world.
Building out a fast enough wi-fi system to support those fifty connections simultaneously is also a decidedly non-trivial matter. It requires a fairly large number of hotspots, connected by some sort of wired or fiber optic connection to a central router.
(Cable is perhaps a little easier, in that a satellite dish or two and some local equipment can supply a park pretty readily. Traditional cable TV is also seemingly on the way out in favor of streaming video over the internet.)
Many of the parks I like to stay at have neither plumbing nor electric nor cable nor internet connectivity at the camp sites, for what it's worth. That's one reason to have a self-contained RV that can provide these things without external infrastructure. I don't see why including internet access or television reception in the list with plumbing and electricity is such a strange demand, assuming you care about having those services available.
