An RV can be extremely useful for a "minor cataclysm"- Your house burns down, tornado (assuming the RV is stored elsewhere), ice storm power failure, flood...
Heck, Hurricane Katrina made for some interesting RV deals- a lot of homeowners made great use of RV's (not talking about the welfare villages as much as the homeowners who got to live on site and keep the city alive during the months of rebuilding).
I'd use the word handy, and I'd say "another fringe benefit" from an RV.
But as a PRIMARY reason to have an RV and as a genuine SURVIVAL POD from a BIG disaster...that's a big NO! - Thunder_MountaiExplorer IIJust goes to show you there is a sucker born every minute! Just wish I had thought of that scam to drain folk's pockets.

why do you expect chaos in the bunker among the "campers"? after all we know from threads here how well we get along together in campgrounds with our loud music, excessively smoky fires, children running thru campsites, dune buggies running around under the guise of being a golf cart, movies projected on a 10 x 15 screen on the side of a RV, excessive drinking and cussing, idling diesels for 45 minutes at 5 am, etc.
seems to me that being 150 ft underground would really smooth things over.

No survival kit needed......We are on a path....... all you need to do is observe the Russian people and learn to cope with the future as they have. - thestoloffsExplorer

my latest Costco flyer had survival rations on sale. various number of people and various lengths of time.
Living in South Florida, those items go in our "go bags". When our canned stores in the condo or in the RV run out, we can eat them. When you can't cook in a shelter, that's what you eat.
Down here in Hurricane country, that's just being prepared for Mother Nature, not for the Apocalypse (zombie or other). - DianneOKExplorerBob, on your way to West Mountain, stop by our place....will have the camper loaded on the 4x4. Always stocked with Idaho wines, JD, and good micro brews. Terry has the radios on board all the time, so we can broadcast all the minute by minute action:)

In this country, yea, in the world, there are several types of people.. RVers, Politicians (leaders) Factory workers, City dwellers Survivalists (folks who stock up on guns and MRE's and think they got something going should the baloon ever go up) and many more.
IF the nukes ever fly.... ONLY THE FARMER grows his own food. So who else can survive?
The survivalist who demands the farmer hand over crops by gunpoint?
Hahahaha...fair enough!
