rvparkreviews.com

Hope this isn't a duplicate post! Wanted to thank all of you who take the time to review so many different campgrounds. It makes planning for a trip to a new area much easier for me and I'm sure many others. Greatly appreciate the effort and thanks again for sharing your experiences with us. Have used www.parkreviews.com many, many times and try to post reviews whenever we use a CG for the first, and sometimes, second time. My priorities for ranking a CG may differ from others, but it seems there are common threads that we all share that makes these reviews so useful. Your time and effort is appreciated.

  • I wrote the previous thread about RVParkReviews.com. I love it, but was noting that some of the CGs had not had a review in quite awhile....and was basically just suggesting that people help to make the site better, by posting reviews.

It is very true that some folks will give a CG a perfect score, and someone else will say that it's the worst park they have ever stayed at. This can be very confusing to newbies trying to figure out where to go camping.

So, it's important to give actual reasons why you like or dislike certain things about a CG. More often than not, low ratings were because the guy/gal at the front desk wasn't very nice....and a different person was there for the next reviewer, who loved the place and the people that run it:)

You really need to read between the lines....and see if those reviews will work for your family. An elderly couple probably would give a low rating to a CG that is overrun with young children, while a young family may find this to be the "perfect" CG.

Yes, most of the times, there is a website for the CG listed on the review page, so more information is available, but remember, it's part of the CGs self promotion, so you may see some beautiful pictures of the sites, before the last big flood:(

It is a great tool to help plan your next trip....but it's also just one of many that you should check with before heading out:)
  • KFS: If you click on the link to the rv park, you will get lots of photos and visual information. Hope this reiterates the good, clarifies the bad and sorts it out!
  • Suddenly two active posts about it?

Anyway, as I said elsewhere, it's a nice idea poorly executed (in my own opinion which is worth not much I'm sure ;)

Absence of photos in today's visual age makes it less than useful for me. One person's idea of "filth" is another's "one tiny paper wrapper that fell 1" short of the lip of the trash can" while another's "great lake" is a mud puddle with aspirations. Photos help reiterate the good, clarify the bad, and sort it out.

So now that you know about it, perhaps you will be inclined to use it. And knowing is half the battle.

Same here. I tried to post a review once and had to provide lots of info only to find out you need to post three reviews at a minimum. Seems counterproductive to me.
Already knew about it just do no like it

It's one of my favorite planning tool, I love it, because the reviews are from actual campers, not a company like Good Sam or Woodalls.
I just ignore the lame reviews, like the one that gave a place a bad review because it rained during their stay.:S
  • www.rvparkreviews.com is a free service and I use it every time we take a trip to determine which campgrounds we will use. Even if I had stayed at 133 campgrounds, I would still want information on how good they were, and what to expect when I show up! If you use rv park reviews, don't forget to add reviews after your trip.
