RVTrader.com FYI

I decided to sell my old '88 Coachmen Class C because none of my kids and grandkids were really interested in camping and it would just continue to sit unused and deteriorate. So,....I purchased a $20 advert for 2 weeks that included 4 pictures on the RV Trader website. The ad went up on 7/14 and I had immediate responses from all kinds of people (15 total contacts). On 7/20 it was sold and today, 7/23, the gentleman that bought it picked it up and is on his way home to Louisiana. In my case RV Trader worked great!

I have to sell my rv and truck and will be watching this thread. I am thinking about using CL but I think that all the money exchange would take place at my bank where they could make sure the payment check is good and transfer the money quickly.

Have buyer meet you with your title at your Department of Licensing if title is clear or your bank if not. Liability release is very important!

It also equals some people you would never send to your worst enemy!

Same thing can happen with any ad. Wierdos aren't limited to CL
  • I sold 2 MH in the past 6 yrs. Sold both on RVTrader using the 14 day ad. The difference between Craigslist (which I have used to sell a few auto's) is the Trader Ad reaches more people at a greater distance. Both of my purchasers were over 500 miles away. Don't think I would have found them on Craigslist. I used wire transfer of money. If purchaser decides they want the MH, they call their Bank and have them transfer the money to my Bank. No worries about fake Cashier Checks or you can always require cash.

Agreed, just make sure you have the EQUALIZER if needed.

  • Congrats, but I would venture to guess your price was what really sold the RV. If you price something right it will sell. I have always had success on Craigslist.
  • Many buy RV's and boats on Craigslist, too. You just have to weed out the tire kickers.
