Sad day for campers in NC.

Think of it this way. My guess is that the CW locations being blasted here sucked to begin with before CW bought them.. More than likely the same people still work there. CW doesn't have a RV Staff College where they clone help designed to give us bad service.
TJ will live on with the same service staff, and let's face it, do the salespeople really matter? The auto sales turnover rate nationally is now at 66%, RV sales can't be much different.

When you own a private business and want to retire you are a prime target for CW. They did the man a favor. The only thing that concerns me is that CW is getting to large and reduces competition. In the Tampa area they have purchased several dealerships with the idea of killing off Lazdays. JMO

Yeah. I'd almost bet the CG will be gone. CW doesn't seem to care enough about it's customers to give that kind of service. Even though it was nearly always full, and a money maker.

When a person bought a RV, they would bring it to the CG and set it up, and let them stay in it, and if any thing was wrong. the service guy would come get it, take it to the service dept, fix it, and bring it back. They would also let you camp there for repair. Come get your RV and service it while you were out sightseeing. The CG is only a few miles from Glendale Springs, Black Mountain and the BRP. Great service.

You saw a lot more from them than I did and I purchased 4 TT's and 1 5er from them ....stayed at their campground, wasn't that impressed...maybe I didn't spend enough money there??

I don't blame TJ at all for retiring. Just hate to see a good service center go down hill.

I would think if TJ was better, then he would of run CW in Statesville and Colfax....not the other way around...And as far as a salesman telling you lies...well that's about every salesman.....no matter where they are...as I mentioned...TJ salesgirl lied to me...or I guess I shouldn't say she lied....she, nor her sales manager knew what they were talking...I guess that is the same type of lie the CW salesman told you...

Yeah, you can go just about anywhere and get the same spiel from any Salesperson, especially when it comes to RV's

Not that I'm all that high on CW, but if they hadn't stepped in and purchased Todds RV right off I26 in Fletcher NC, it was about to close...It's only about 18 miles from our house and has been handy to have so close. Saying it's a sad day for "campers in NC" is pretty inclusive...doesn't bother me at all...

I purchased a few TT's from Tom Johnsons in the late 90's and up to 2003, but wasn't all that enthused with them, Seemed Salespeople didn't seem to care whether they sold you an RV or not....Todd's gave better deals, was closer and had a better Service Department....at least that's my opinion having dealt with both....Never stayed at TJ's campground, didn't like how crowded it seemed it could get...rather camp elsewhere and I was given free camping quite a few times by them.

It is what it is, nothing more than business. Figure Camping World will probably have cheaper prices in their store, (same with Todds), and as far as service, I go to a place in Sevierville TN, Ricky's RV...I trust them FAR more than CW or TJ's....been there, done that...know from experience....

I don't attend RV shows unless it's at the AG center by Asheville Airport and CW isn't in that one, so RV shows make very little difference in my opinion as to who has what...The internet gives you all that information..

Doesn't matter one way or the other to me, maybe to people who live closer to TJ's, but to me, CW as close as it is to me has really come in handy at times and again, there store prices have been cheaper than TJ's or Todds before it was purchased by CW.

Actually I think Marcus has already assumed that status and dominates the US RV market, whether good or bad. It is very premature to determine that this location is now ruined also as some have suggested. There are a number of CW locations that routinely get high marks from folks on this forum.

With Tom J you can call them from any where and they will help over the phone. I did with my first TT. I called from the beach. The service manager talked me thru my Water heater problem. When I traded TVs, TJs setup the hitch for the new TT at no charge, even though they already did it for the first TV.
Do you really think CW would take the time to talk you thru a problem long distance? Shoot they ignored me in their dealership, much less on the phone. Do you really think CW would take the time to help with a new TV?

As for ruining every thing they touch. CW did manage to ruin the RV show in Charlotte, to the point of causing the NC RV Dealers Association to move their show to another building, and now CW has a show all their own, and very few go. We all go to the NC RV Dealers show.
