- BumpyroadExplorerI have stayed at the KOA in slidel and also the KOA on the west side of town. the french quarter RV park is surrounded by block walls topped with razor wire. that should tell you something. Probably perfectly safe as long as you stay within those walls.

Good one! Same as sanitary and French Quarter belonging in the same sentence. LOL - bobsallyhExplorer IIWe use Bayou Segnetti too when visiting NO. Having done NO several times, we have never felt unsafe. Of course we are use to cities so maybe that has something to with it.
- bgumExplorerLike any big city.

Is it SAFE to assume there is a crime problem in NEW ORLEANS? :) - Dannyabear1ExplorerThe words SAFE and New Orleans do not belong in the same sentence. Bayou Signette is a good choice.
- JoeHExplorer IIIWe have had no issues with French Quarter RV Park..... it's very convienient to everything. On our last stop there a few months ago, I tried Ponchatrain Landing RV. I won't be going back there. Too far from town and the place is not well maintained... pothole filled roads.dusty or muddy depending on the weather.
- jnharleyExplorerWe stayed at Bayou Signette State Park located in Oswego. It is an urban state park but we felt perfectly safe. It was a 15 minute drive to the Algiers Ferry and a 5 minute ferry ride to the French Quarter. Parking fee at the ferry but the ferry was free, The state park has no sewer hook ups, just water and electric and is big rig friendly. The state park was redone after Katrina. The price is good too.
