Salesperson Switcharoo!
We are serious cash buyers for an TT. We have contacted 3 or 4 dealers, most are at least 2.5 hours away and all in different directions. We are trying to buy and get delivery the same day which seems impossible.
We found a dealer 2.5 hours away and the salesman through conversations had said that if we get there early and make a choice, it can be ready that day. My husband last told him that we would arrive early and which unit we would purchase IF "fit and finish" was good. The next email says that will be fine BUT he won't be there on the day we are going and "the team" would take care of us.
We have had this happen twice before when shopping. Everything said by the person not conveniently present is a "misstatement" or "misunderstanding" on the part of the shopper. I don't like or have time for "games", especially when we are talking about losing a whole day just to get to the dealership.
So, I say this smells like a "rat" situation. I think once there if all terms remain the same that delivery will not be that day and/or "fit and finish" won't meet our expectations and they'll try to get us to buy something "better" although after my research, in the RV industry, "better" is a lost art.
This will be RV #9, so we are not amateurs. It is also a major purchase for us.
Thoughts? I am saying the "salesperson switcharoo" spells hassle.
