Those bulbs may not grow in a cold environment, but I'm guessing they have sentimental value. If that is the case I would try to keep them alive as long as I could (cut the flower stalk though)in the pot so as much energy as can will go into the bulb. When they are completely done put the bulbs into some sand, then into a dark cool place till fall time in IA. Plant in the fall (some bone meal would help) and keep your fingers crossed
