Saving sites - opinions

A lawn chair is not a tent or RV. So to me for all I know. The wind mite have blown it there.
No tag site is free to take. Leave your DW lay on the ground and hold it till you return with the site tag.

I have driven hundreds of miles to arrive at a campground that I had reserved a 60 foot spot in several months in advance only to find someone who like you feels that my reservation is not important because they want to park their little pop-up in that spot... so I have a choice... blow off my vacation, lose my money that I paid to reserve that spot and head home...

If you are so jealous of the fact that my $20,000 trailer is longer than yours.... tough poop

I hope someday real soon you take a rare vacation from a 50-60 hour work week and find some guy just like you in the spot you reserved...

If you need to go dump to the store whatever, an empty chair with no documentation doesn't cut it as far as I am concerned. Orange cone you can get for cheap,a piece of paper with your tag# and dates is documentation enough for me.

Orange cone was just one of many things that you can hang a tag on the paper is the part that counts.

What i have noticed is they never remove the little tickets on the post. I have seen some over a week old. I giess they get replaced when someone reserves. Larry

around here you get a slip that must be on the post, now when I go in without a res, I ask for a list of reserved sites, or call the office on my cell and ask if a site is reserved when I am in front of it, and if it is not reserved or payed for at the time I am there and if open for the duration of my stay, I tell the park attendant that I am going to drop my trailer on it and come back to the office and to start the paperwork, I giver her/him all my info over the phone so now the site is mine, I drop the trailer and go back to get the slip and sign the visa slip


and god forbid there is a chair there as I may mistake it for a toilet, or if its a nice chair it may end up by my campfire.

Skip, read the OP......These folks are NOT paying for a site, just placing an article in the site to save it for their buddy who is coming later. ALL USFS campgrounds I have ever stayed in have a post with a clip at the throat of the site to place the PAID receipt on to let everyone know that site is paid for and taken....These folks are NOT following the rules.

I reserve the spot that I want. It never occurred to me to leave the beautiful lake side spots for the people with the larger trailers. Actually, we enjoyed watching them trying to back into the smaller spots that they neglected to reserve. I didn't realize that those people should have been treated to the privileged spots. My bad!

If they didn't reserve the site, that's their problem....

but as a side note, some of our parks have moved to stop tenters from taking sites designed for RV's,,, as alot of the tent sites will not accommodate an rv, ether through layout, or obstructions (trees boulders hills)
but there is no discrimination against the size of RV, and as far as I am concerned,,,, I will take FCFS or reserved any F'n site I choose,,, Pal, if my kids (step) are along n the trip I want room for them to play

I have run into some strange birds in this world, but nothing weirder than someone obsessed over campsites to or almost to the point of starting a fight

nonsense. everyone has the same opportunity to occupy any site in the campground with the sole exception of the handicapped sites. and in Illinois if the campground is literally sold out other than the HC sites they will rent the HC to the next camper thru the door HC or not. if I like a 60' pull thru for whatever reason and it's available then i'm gonna take it.
