People can run the timeouts/clock/maximize plays stuff all they want. Even if it is just two plays instead of three, I would bet my house on Lynch scoring on one of those two plays in that situation.
Also, Wilson is arguably the most mobile quarterback in the game. If you want to get unconventional, let him roll out or run off of the tackle or something. Basically do anything but throw a slant into a very tight spot that requires a perfect pass and a great effort by the receiver.
That was a horrible call and I don't see how anyone can defend it. One of the worst calls I've ever seen in sports.
Seattle got to two straights Super Bowls because of some very basic fundamentals and then they abandoned that game plan at the last minute and tried to get cute.
It cost them a championship.
