We thought we purchased a new Heritage Glen Saturday, but now we are told that it was sold 24 mins before us... A story for another time.Dealer did tell us that we would be able to order a new one. I am going to get for sure the 50amp/wired for 2nd a/c and the 15K IPO 13.5 A/C options. My question is...is it worth getting the 2nd A/C? Especially here in Florida.I have read mixed opinions on this question. Some say it is worth it, cools the RV faster, etc., others say it is over kill.Thanks...

If you are ordering one then yes go ahead and get it...better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Agree get it. You will need it sooner or later and be glad you did.

Florida? Get the second unit! You can always just not use it, but considering it's February and in the 80s already....

We added a 2nd AC (13.5K) after a year of owning. Here in TX it takes a long time to cool down the trailer with only one AC after a long hot day of driving. After cool down, the one 15k AC will keep it cool.

Yes. Ours had an option for three, and we went with that. If one fails, you have a backup (as long as they are on a common duct system).You can also cool in much higher temps, and neither will have to work as hard as a single unit.

Yes get the 2nd AC and if you can't get a shady spot you will be OK still.

My thoughts exactly!

3 Dometic 15K units. One goes down you can still be somewhat comfortable until bad unit is fixed.

I picked up on the fact that you will be ordering. One thing to check is when the manufacturer switches over to the new model year so you can get the latest model (resale !). RVs are not on the same schedule as cars and trucks. I ordered in May of 2013 and got a 2014 model that was delivered at the end of June.

It may be to your benefit to delay your order.

Since you would be ordering, I'd get a heat pump option with twin 13500 btu air conditioners. Ask that one conditioner be on each "leg" of the 50 amp service.

And be sure to get some type of power management so you can run it on 30A. I believe there is a basic unit that just controls ACs for under $200.

I liked having two ACs since you could cool the rv down, then use the one where you aren't to maintain it. at night run the living room one, during day the bed room one. I installed a second one in the bedroom of my bounder that was smaller and cheaper and would run it if voltage was low, etc.
