no I am looking for an answer. now it is more likely that some bad guy sees me walking around with a $1,000 worth of camera stuff around my neck, watches me go in the RV, leave without it, and knows that there are some goodies inside. now are they left out on the table, no. are they in a drawer, no. If you think that a thief is just going to look in your trailer and not look thru any of the cabinets, you sir, are a fool. Under the seat is probably the SECOND place they would look after the closet.
They know you have a $1000 camera.. which more than likely means you have more expensive electronics. Remember, they will wait until they see you leave (they'll wait to see you pack up for a daytrip), then once in the trailer, they have LOTS of time.
Whatever.. If you need a safe to feel like your belongings are safe, have at er..
I've been camping for 30years, I've stayed in walmarts, truck stops,pull-outs, campgrounds, backroads, and all sorts of sketchy places, ALL over North America, and never ONCE has anything been stolen, or have I heard of anything being stolen. Hell we didn't even lock our RV door (except in storage), until we had kids (5 years ago).
you can leave your $1000 camera laying on the dinette if you want to. at least I will slow them down a second or two. and the noise of their chain saw should be a tip off. :)
but like the fella with the pistol, if I am off for the day my camera will no doubt be with me.
