Because we have the second amendment, there shouldn't even BE a debate.
Reality is, the states shouldn't even be allowed to put further restrictions on constitutionally protected rights, but they do, and get away with it.
And, as you say, and as said by someone else, without the second amendment, there wouldn't be a first, or even a consititution or the freedoms that everyone here enjoys on a daily basis.
And before anyone says it, no, Im not paranoid, just prepared. Your choice on how prepared you want to be.
