Self PRESSURIZING Oxygenics shower head - any good?

We've had an oxygenics shower head for a number of years. Love it.
Now I see that they tout one that "delivers a powerful spray regardless of water pressure"

Anyone out there that has had the old style and switched to this SELF PRESSURIZING one... and knows if it really makes a difference in water volumn??

We sometimes have to turn on our onboard water pump and use water out of our fresh tank to assist the incoming water flow from the city hook up when we are on a well.

More info:

Self Pressurizing The patented technology uses a self pressurizing design to increase spray velocity to produce a sensational experience even with low water pressure. This gives the user an invigorating clean-rinsing shower - anytime, anyplace. - See more at: clicky

Mine gets hot when you shut it off. Has something to do with the plumbing configuration.

  • We switched out the shower head that came in the Class C with the same one you mentioned above. Our TT had twice the size gray tank than our Class C, yet we are able to go longer in the motorhome with this shower head without filling up the gray tank than we could in the TT. Of course we do a little better in conserving. In the TT with a 65 gallon gray tank, we would be full after about a day and a half. In the motorhome with a 30 gallon gray tank, we can now go all weekend. Basically a little conserving and with the oxygenics, we can go twice as long with half the size of a gray tank. Who would of thought?
  • Ours turns cold for a sec when you shut it off and back on.
  • I am happy with what I have but curious why it turns ice cold when you pause the shower for ten seconds.
  • We have a Oxygenic and like it. As for water pressure, we handle that by using a whole house water pressure regulator. Same as those used on S&B with just the addition of hose connections.
Why? Well they will give a much better flow under any pressure. It is flow that gives you the nice shower, not pressure. A house regulator will flow 6 to 9 GPM. The standard RV regulator will flow 2 to 3 GPM.
Got this from a plumber and saw confirmation at www.rvwaterfilterstore.com. Have great showers!
  • "Self pressurizing" may be a smaller tip orafice, restricted fo build up what feels like more pressure yet may be umcomfortable on sensitive skin. It may even damage skin that is ultra sensitive....dibetics or children. Try it but make sure the store you buy at has a good return policy!
  • I do not think there is any difference other than the push button shut off that newer models have.
