Sewer Hose Supports

I have never seen anyone at a dump station use hose supports to neatly ramp the hose down to the sewer dump. What advantage is gained by doing so at the camp site? Isn't the dumping operation the same in each case, or am I missing something?

yes, some cg's require them and also sewer donuts

We have been to a few campgrounds whose rules insist upon sewer supports while you are connected to the sewer at your site. One campground employee told me that it was a county ordinance, not just a campground rule. I don't use a support while using the dump station, never seen anyone else use one.

I only use the supports if I'm a distance from the sewer pipe. At the dump station I pull up as close as possible and don't need the support
