SharkBite fittings

Does anyone know if the 1/2" SharkBite fittings will fit the standard 1/2" RV plumbing, or do I need to find the OEM?
  • Good thing Home Depot is across the street. Got a brass 90, splice, better PEX shear than I have here, AND A REMOVAL TOOL ..:)

Its in and done, but doing that in a wall 6" down from the access hole is a PITA, good thing i have skinny arms and resistant to bleeding (mostly)....

KUDOS to the moron at Winnebago who pulled a PVC elbow from the box that clearly had a bubble in the mold and tried to cover it up with pipe dope and teflon tape.

    The fix
  • If it is PEX the PEX adapters should be in the package Too
  • I have used the Flair-It fittings and the SharkBite fittings and have had no problem with either one. The Flair-It fittings were quite a bit cheaper though.
  • I added an accumulator tank using SharkBite fittings. Yes, buy the disconnect tool.
  • I'd also take a look at Flair-It fittings, as an alternative, as the non "pro" can be disassembled by hand.

Buy the little removal tool. Just in case.

    Definitely words of wisdom!
  • THANKS! I figured someone's been down this road before.

I'm standing in Home Depot with a hand full of parts waiting for an answer.
Now off to fix a Winnebago factory screw up !
