Shopping near Harkers Island, NC
Anyone familiar with shopping facilities near Harkers Island NC?? How far in what direction? What is available on the island itself??

I did a Google search and found this and much more.
Harkers Island- There's not much on Harkers, so stock up beforehand. Best place is Morehead City, which has Walmart, Lowe's Foods and large Harris Teeter (among others)... followed by Beaufort (closer to HI) with Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly and smaller groceries.
All of these stores are on Highway 70 in both towns. Distance is about 10 to 20 miles from Harkers to the west. (This area curves east-west along the coast, rather than north-south.)
