Good point FunnyCamper. It is just money. Ha. I get what you are saying though. I think the best thing we are going to do right now is keep looking at campers that we think we would like and if it truly is something we want then I will start talking prices with them. I am here in Michigan so right now a ton of snow on the ground. Would I expect to get the best price on a camper now since it is the off season? More than likely if I get a good price on another camper I will take more of a hit on my trade. I know the dealer I looked at yesterday offered me $8000 for trade but immediately knocked $1500 off of the other camper. My biggest worry about buying a camper now is that with all the snow it is almost impossible to inspect the roof very well.
One more question. Do dealers not really check out a camper that is traded in? Last year when we were looking at campers one of the local dealers wanted $800 to "thoroughly" inspect the camper they had that I was interested in buying. When I asked what it was for he told me they would inspect to make sure all the appliances worked, the unit was structurally sound and so on. That seemed really fishy to me. He looked dumbfounded when I asked how long the warranty was good for if I paid him $800 to inspect it. This can not be normal is it. The dealer I bought mine from didn't do this and they inspected and made sure everything in mine worked before we did paperwork.
