I keep mine in. My TT is fully functional with them in. I open them as needed for convenience.

I leave mine out and just treat the seals every spring. have had no problems at all.

I'd say in, just because if the slide mechanism seized up, you are not SOL until you crank the slide in.

Of course, it is wise to run the slides in and out every month or so, just to ensure the mechanism is still working.

People who full time or spend six months Snowbirding keep the slide out. It's designed and built to do that.

Extended slides offer more route of ingress to bugs and mice. I'd keep it closed regardless of if I was lucky enough to store it inside. When I needed the access, I'd just push the button like the poster above stated. But really - do what is best for you.

Our current trailer is also the first we've owned with a slide and although I store it here at the house during the season and am in it pretty well every day for one reason or another I keep the slide closed since it doesn't interfere in any way with full access to anything inside the camper. However, in your case because you store your rig on your own property and protected from the weather and because the slide when stored does interfere with interior access I'd see no reason at all to not keep the slide deployed.

Under "normal" storage conditions it makes more sense to keep it in. However full timers have their slides out all the time.

If you want to leave it out, then leave it out.
