Worth it depends on how often you would use it. We dry camp in the national forest nearly all of the time and enjoy having electricity without running our portable generator. 4 GC batteries, 300 watts solar panels and 2000 watt inverter. Not a small investment but we love ours. Never used the generator during 3 months last summer and only 2 days with hook ups. A personal choice as to value added.
